Pharmacy students took part in ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Program in Lithuania

Eight members from the Herba and Herbarium scientific circles and their academic teachers from the Faculty of Pharmacy traveled to Lithuania. During the trip, which lasted from May 27 to 31, the group visited sites of exceptional botanical and pharmaceutical importance and participated in discussions on the role of plant substances and compounds of natural origin in modern medicine. The entire event was organized by Lietuvos Sveikatos Mokslu Universitetas in Kaunas.

The ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Program is a short didactic program on selected scientific topics that uses innovative teaching methods.

The program, attended by our students and lecturers, was entitled “Considerable issues of natural products - a comprehensive pathway from botany, through phytochemistry aiming at phytotherapy.” In addition to the visit to Lithuania, the students had the opportunity to listen to a series of lectures related to the main topic, which were held regularly online since February of this year.

In addition to the representatives from MUW, students and lecturers from universities in Italy and Germany also participated in the program. On the part of the Faculty of Pharmacy MUW, the coordinator of the project was Prof. Sebastian Granica.
