Winners of the Rector's scholarship for young scientists

As part of the third call for applications for His Magnificence the Rector of MUW's scholarship for young scientists, 15 people received awards. The scholarships were awarded for achievements and commitment to scientific activity, both in the area of publications and projects.

List of scholarship winners

The laureates represent various fields of medicine, pharmacy and health sciences. They are:

In medical sciences:

  • Dr. Aleksander Slusarczyk from the Chair and Department of General, Oncological and Functional Urology (1M7)
  • Dr. Joanna Kacperczyk-Bartnik from the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1W61)
  • Michał Żurek, MD, from the Chair and Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (1WF)
  • Dr. Bartosz Krzowski from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology (1WR)
  • Dr. Maciej Janik from the Department of Hepatology, Transplantology and Internal Medicine (1WB1)
  • Dr. Agnieszka Jasinska-Nowacka from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (1WF)
  • Dr. Wictor Pascal from the Department of Research Methodology (1MN)
  • Dr. Krzysztof Bartnik from the 2nd Department of Radiology (1W12)
  • Karol Momot, MD, from the Chair and Department of Experimental and Clinical Physiology (1MA)
  • Dr. Katarzyna Mańka-Malara from the Department of Orthodontics (WLS6)
  • Dr. Mateusz Szudzik from the Department of Experimental Physiology and Pathophysiology (WLS14)

In health sciences

  • Dr. Ilona Cieślak from the Department of Education and Research in Health Sciences (NZD)
  • Dr. Jakub Świtalski from the Department of Health Economics and Medical Law (NZQA)

In pharmaceutical sciences 

  • Dr. Aleksandra Kruk from the Microbiota Lab (WF4L)
  • Dr. Paweł Siudem from the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry (WF7)

The scholarships were awarded by Rector Prof. Rafal Krenke from the Scholarship Fund.

The competition for scholarships in the 2024/2025 academic year, 47 formally correct applications were received. Among the applicants, representatives of medical sciences predominated - there were 32 people. Ten people were representatives of pharmaceutical sciences, and five - of health sciences.

 

The next round of recruitment will take place next year in November. The scholarship can be applied for by MUW employees who meet the following criteria: conducting scientific activity and being counted among the number N at MUW; being employed at MUW at a minimum of part time; not holding a doctoral degree or having a doctoral degree for less than 7 years; not being over 35 years old; not holding a postdoctoral degree or professor title.
